It's a CEO's worst nightmare - your corporate name affiliated with a deadly attack on American soil. But even though their airplanes were used as weapons in Tuesday's terrorist attack on New York and Washington, D.C., the hijackings probably won't tarnish the public image of American Airlines or United Air Lines, experts say.

"I think it's clear to the public that American Airlines was as much as a victim in this as the people killed in those buildings," said Lisa LeMaster of [The] LeMaster Group, a Dallas public relations firm that often represents clients in a crisis.
